The RightsWalk app offers you the chance to see a city through new eyes. See the city’s most important human rights highlights with this free new interactive walk on your smart phone. Using video, audio and photos you go back in time and find out everything there is to know about human rights in your city in past and present times.
The first RightsWalk is called ‘Dwars door de stad’. Experience a human rights view of Amsterdam. Your guide Hans Goedkoop takes you to the most important spots of the capital. Dwars door de stad tells the story of extraordinary people. Of enlightened, inspiring and outspoken citizens of Amsterdam who have found remarkable ways of fighting for the rights of others. Behind their sometimes frivolous and artistic expressions lies a message of universal human rights like equality between men and women and freedom of speech. Walk, listen and experience the city through the eyes of Multatuli, Theo van Gogh, the Dolle Mina’s, Descartes and many others. The RightsWalk-app was launched on 28 May in Amsterdam at 15:30 at the office of Amnesty International. Stay tuned for more walks!
